Local sustainable small farms are the future of our food production |

Elizabeth Telling Farm grows diverse high-quality food for Ohioans through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and direct farmers’ market sales. Our farming practices are focused around two principals: 1) each animal or crop supports another part of the farm so that we use no herbicides or pesticides and only organic seeds and fertilizers; and 2) we continually work to reduce or eliminate items like fuel, electricity, feed, fertilizer, and plastic bags, in the production, harvesting, and packaging of our food. Our goal is to maintain a small sustainable farm that grows food for about 200 CSA’s, sells produce at two farmers’ markets, and provides job opportunities to local residents. Additionally, we are working towards raising feed and pasture to produce organic grass-fed eggs, meat and dairy, and to grow seasonal vegetables 11 months of the year. Only through continued customer support is our farm goal possible. As the effects of industrialization and globalization on our health and the earth's environment become more evident, a shift to locally produced food grown with organic seeds and fertilizers and without pesticides or herbicides is necessary. Local small sustainable farms are the future of our food production.
