Elizabeth Telling Farm has operated in Belmont County, Ohio, since 1989, growing diverse, high quality food for Ohioans through a Community-Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and direct farmers' market sales. We farm based on three principles:
>> we use no herbicides or pesticides and only organic seeds and fertilizers,
>> we make sure that each crop or animal supports another part of the farm, and
>> we continually look for new ways to soften our impact on the environment.
"I wanted to name the farm in honor of two of the most important influences in my life," says farmer Sandy Sterrett. "Elizabeth (Libby) Gregory was my best friend and mentor, and my great-grandfather Telling set an example for me with the innovative dairy farm that he and his four brothers ran in the first part of the 20th century."
